In 2014, while living in South India, we were introduced to locals growing and producing cocoa. We immediately became interested and learnt about hobbyists in America that were making chocolate by hand, similar to craft beer home brewers. Excited about this new hobby, we soon started to make chocolate using basic tools. When we returned to South Tyrol, we discovered that no one was producing chocolate directly from the raw material and there were only a few artisan manufacturers in Europe. The idea of turning our hobby into a profession was the next logical step. It soon became a family project: Armin’s brother, Lorenz, created the design of the bars and packaging, whilst his father, Roman, generated the graphics. Making fine chocolate is a matter of the heart for us. We are constantly researching and experimenting trying to deepen our knowledge about cocoa in order to make the best possible chocolate from the best raw materials.
