Description This cocoa from the Esmeraldas province, whose pods are yellow and grainy, reveals a taste of buttered biscuit and caramel. This cocoa grows in the northern zone of the province of Esmeraldas, which is covered by a tropical forest. The villages are mainly on the riversides and the traditional means of transport is by canoe. The cocoa tree is a native tree of the region and has always contributed to the economic support of communities. It is cultivated in agroforestry, under the shade of several varieties of trees such as mango, banana, coconut, orange and wood trees.
